Strum Fix Plus 3 - getting closer

The 3D printers have been busy this past week churning out parts for testing. The Strum Fix Plus 3 will be available in 2 configurations (at least) — a “standard” one that replaces the existing strum bar in a Rock Band guitar, and an “overdrive” version that also includes a mechanism for activating “overdrive” in Rock Band (or “star power” in Guitar Hero).

I’m really happy with how the “standard” version performs — I’ve been playing Rock Band 4 with it lately and it took me very little time to get used to it. I have the circuit boards and other parts in stock and am starting the process to build the first production batch, with the goal of shipping orders the first week of Jan ‘23. I’ll be posting more information (including photos and videos) on the website in the next week.

The “overdrive” version is a bit of a different story — I don’t just want it to replace the flaky “tilt switch” mechanism in the older RB guitars, I want it to be reliable, be easy to use, and allow people to improve their scores. I’ve gone thru 5 major revisions to the design, and probably 30 or more minor revisions. It’s getting close to how I want it to work, and I’ll continue to refine the design over the next week or so, but it may not be available right away in January if I’m not happy with the design by then.

2022 was a tough year, but I think we are coming out stronger and I’m more optimistic than I’ve been in a while. The support I’ve received from customers and people in the Rock Band community has been amazing and very appreciated! Thank you all. -Scott P (owner)
