I’m getting lots of nice messages asking about the Strum Fix Plus 3 and when it will be available. I’m making progress and it is getting close, but like most projects the “devil is in the details” and there are always lots of little things to do before something is ready to go into “mass” production.

Nothing is perfect, but there’s always a struggle to figure out when something is “good enough”. As an engineer I can always find improvements to make and spend months spinning out new revisions to a design which may only impact the build process not even impact the customer’s use or impression of the product. This is especially true when making parts using additive manufacturing (3D printing) — it’s one thing to be able to print a few parts, but it’s a totally different thing to print them in large quantities while maintaining quality and not requiring a bunch of hand rework (sanding, filing etc).

But eventually you get to the point where it’s time to “shoot the engineers”, freeze the design and go into production.

I think I’m at that point.

Take care everyone,
